Top Tips to Improve Concentration

Many of us are familiar with paying more attention to the clock than the work in front of us – or maybe it’s those little background noises ruining our train of thought every few minutes. Whether we’re working at home or in the office, all these distractions add up throughout the day. Unfortunately, there isn’t a magic potion that we can take to solve these problems, however, there are small changes that we can make to improve concentration and boost productivity. Ditch the distractions

Many of us keep our phones close to hand at all times - while this is great for ensuring you never miss important calls; how often do you find yourself procrastinating, scrolling mindlessly when you’re meant to be doing something else? One of the simplest things we can do to ensure our focus remains on what we’re supposed to be doing is to remove distractions – including our phones! Keeping it out of reach (better still in another room) will stop you from instinctively reaching for it at a moment of boredom. Keep a clear workspace

As the old saying goes – a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind. It’s worth spending the time to ensure you have a clean and organised area before starting your work, as this will allow you to have a more focussed mindset and put you in a better mood to tackle the tasks on your to do list. What’s more, with the rise in hybrid working, distinguishing between work life and recreational life is becoming increasingly hard. However, keeping these environments as separate as possible can help you to switch off when you don’t have to concentrate and help you to have more energy when you do need to focus.
